Nvidia Becomes World’s Most Valuable Company as Market Value Hits $3.92 Trillion

Nvidia’s market capitalization skyrocketed to an astonishing $3.92 trillion on Thursday, July 3, making it the most valuable company in history. This milestone, driven by Wall Street’s growing enthusiasm for artificial intelligence (AI), puts Nvidia ahead of both Apple and Microsoft in the race for tech supremacy.

The chipmaker surpassed Apple’s previous record closing value of $3.915 trillion, set in December 2024. Nvidia’s high-performance AI chips—vital for training large-scale AI models—have triggered a massive surge in demand, positioning the company at the center of the AI revolution.

According to Reuters, Nvidia’s cutting-edge hardware has become essential for powering AI data centers and advanced model development. This dominance has helped it outpace even the biggest tech giants, including Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, and Tesla, in the ongoing AI arms race.

A Historic Rise in Value

In just four years, Nvidia’s market value has surged nearly eightfold—from $500 billion in 2021 to nearly $4 trillion today. Originally developed for gaming graphics, Nvidia’s technology has found its most profitable application in AI, propelling the company to the top of the global market.

To put its valuation in perspective, Nvidia’s current market cap is larger than the combined value of all publicly traded companies in Canada, Mexico, and even the United Kingdom, based on data from LSEG.

As of now, Microsoft holds the second-highest market capitalization at $3.7 trillion, while Apple trails in third with $3.19 trillion.

Bouncing Back from Market Turbulence

Nvidia’s rise has come despite recent volatility. The company’s stock dipped earlier this year following market jitters tied to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff threats. However, shares have rebounded strongly—up over 68% from that low—as investors bet on favorable trade deals and a stable policy outlook from the White House.

CEO Jensen Huang’s Soaring Net Worth

Nvidia’s meteoric rise has also boosted the fortunes of its co-founder and CEO, Jensen Huang. According to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index, Huang’s net worth surged by $25 billion in 2025 alone, reaching an estimated $139 billion.
